We're delighted to introduce a double feature for our session on April 8th 4-7PM at Magick City. Hosted by Barbie Bertisch and Paul Raffaele (Love Injection / The Lot Radio)
Classic Album Sundays New York City presents:
The Wailers' Burnin' & Ms Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
The Wailers released their sixth studio album in 1973, the last before Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer set off into their solo careers and Bob Marley took center stage. It produced iconic songs like Get Up, Stand Up and I Shot The Sheriff... and it also inspired member of the Fugees and romantic partner to Rohan Marley, Lauryn Hill, to write her acclaimed debut album. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was released in 1998 and became a fixture on the industry's best of of all time lists.
Last year, we took Ms Lauryn Hill's month off, so we're finally getting around to giving her amazing album the hifi treatment it deserves on the year of its 20th anniversary. We couldn't be more excited to be highlighting two albums that are intertwined in more ways than one.
Grab your spot early and see you front of the hifi! Tickets via Resident Advisor: https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1087849
