Thursday, March 16th: Fire Over Heaven continues with a double header featuring a rare solo performance by drumkit extraordinaire Chris Corsano and Wendy Eisenberg and Richard Lenz's duo, Opinion Havers. I remember being wowed by Chris' drumming when the new millennium was still in the low single digits and in the years since he's played with everyone from Bill Orcutt and Joe McPhee to Björk. Every time I see him he seems to expand our collective sense of what a drum set is in some way. He's working on an extended set up for this occasion so I'm sure this show will be no exception... Happily we've been able to reschedule Wendy Eisenberg from January's cancellation and they'll be appearing with a new duo project called Opinion Havers, with bass clarinet and electronics operator Richard Lenz. The pair coax equal parts synthetic blasts, low end skronk, scraped strings, articulated runs and space from their respective instruments.
