BLACK, INDIGENOUS, AND BROWN TRANS OPEN MIC

This is an open mic & bring your own art event which is prioritizing Black, Indigenous and Brown Trans people with mental illness to have a space to perform their art (poetry, music, comedy, etc.), speak about their experience or scream into the void. If there is time, others will also be allowed to perform as well. Everyone will get approximately 3 minutes to perform to allow for the most amount of performances. There will be tables set up if you would like to bring your art for sale or to just display publically. Some food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. There will be red, yellow and green stickers at the welcome desk: red to signal that you do not want any social interaction, yellow to mean not super social but down for interaction here or there, green for talk to me idc so there will be no pressure to perform socially for anyone. All donations will be going to cover the cost of the space with any leftover to be redistributed to the performers. Feel free to email Violet Simulation at alienvirginmary@gmail.com with any questions, suggestions, concerns or conspiracy theories or if you are a Black, Indigenous or Brown trans person w/ mental illness and want us to reserve a specific time for you to perform.
