On Saturday, October 22 we will be holding an epic, 6-hour benefit concert for the Fire Over Heaven music series. In this time of multi-dimensional uncertainty and funding woes, our already meager grants have evaporated and we turn to our community for support. This day-long concert will feature graciously donated sets by The 75 Dollar Bill Little Big Band, Eve Essex, Loren Connors, David Grubbs & Ryley Walker, C.Spencer Yeh, Patrick Holmes & Ryan Sawyer and more artists TBA. Tickets are $30 and all proceeds will go to support the continued work of this concert series. We are offering an early bird price of $25 for one week starting today. Advanced tickets highly encouraged! If you can't attend the concert there are other ways to support us: donations of any amount can be made online via WithFriends or Paypal. Another way to support our work, while also getting yourself some great music, is to purchase archival sets from the Fire Over Heaven Bandcamp page. 30+ live set recordings to choose from including benefit tracks from Earth Eater and 75 Dollar Bill. Fire Over Heaven was started in 2015 by drummer Greg Fox, who got it off the ground and ran it until Che Chen (of 75 Dollar Bill) took over in 2017. Over the course of its 7 year existence, the series has become a crucial part of the city's experimental underground, offering a monthly gathering place for artists to present challenging work in a relaxed, intimate environment. While the series has always been run on a shoestring budget, with staffers often donating time or working for less than their time is worth, the recent loss of funding has put us in a real financial bind.
