Berbere Hands - Dinner & Coffee Ceremony

Brooklyn, New York
$45.00

Join us Thursday October 25th for our 6th Tile Table Dinner, "Berbere Hands" in which we explore the food and culture of East Africa's coastal country Eritrea and it's more notorious neighbor, Ethiopia.

Situated also between Sudan and Djibouti, Eritrean cuisine shares many similarities to the food from its neighboring regions, like rich berbere spiced curries and meals served on and with injera bread. Nonetheless what makes Eritrea stand out, is its unique use of Mediterranean elements, which came as a product of cultural and social interchange during their 60 year period as an Italian colony, and most importantly, that our new roommate, Phil, hails from there.

With Phil's guidance we will be embarking on a rich and spicy feast that will culminate in an interactive Ethiopian Coffee ceremony.

After dinner we will roasting some Ethiopian coffee beans table side and in a traditional Eritrean style fashion, serving the coffee alongside Italian desserts, digestivi, and dance music!

Join us for a fun evening of vibrant food, creative drinks, and messy hands!
