Join us at the Opening Reception for 女 Nǚ: Other Half of The Sky, an exhibition curated by Xiaowei Wang and Qianqian Ye, from 6:00 - 10:00pm, featuring a live electronic set by Verdun 1916.

女 Nǚ: Other half of the sky will include artists Fei Liu, Bing Bin, Siman Li, Angel Chen, Xin Xin, Yuehao Jiang, Ming Mur-Ray, Wu Qingyu, Xiaowei Wang, Ananda Gabo, and others. Some of the artists will be in attendance for the opening event, and we will provide light refreshments.

This exhibition and programming highlights the trans-Pacific flows of labor between Asia and the SF Bay Area. It centers the invisible labor of those who have built the infrastructure for Silicon Valley's tech boom from the factory workers of Shenzhen to the janitors and microtask workers of the SF Bay Area, focusing on forms of labor including maintenance and care. The exhibition and related programming reimagines Orientalist narratives in the context of labor, and questions who has the right to imagine the future of work.

女 Nǚ: Other Half of The Sky will run from January 18 - March 7, 2020.
Throughout the exhibition, we aim to heighten the connections between the exhibition themes and the local community through a series of public programming.
