Fire Over Heaven continues on Thursday, November 16th with a fantastic double bill featuring the always multi-directional Victoria Keddie and a rare solo guitar set from FOH's own Che Chen. In her own words, Victoria Keddie "explores media environments" and "focuses on the persistent functionality of obsolete technology, orbiting entropic debris, and the transformation of uninhabited spaces into fertile grounds for emerging life and organic processes." Modular synths and projected light are frequently part of the conceptual and full sensory mix ... Che Chen has been booking the Fire Over Heaven concert series since taking over for Greg Fox in 2017, while at the same time maintaining a strong presence on the scene as an improvisor, multi-instrumentalist, bandleader and organizer. Though best known as the guitar player in 75 Dollar Bill, it's an instrument that he rarely appears with solo. Recently he's been working on a solo approach that involves improvising through a series of simple interlocking modes, so maybe that's about to change? Advanced tickets are, as usual, encouraged. FOH will take December off but will return in January with a new season of concerts curated by an exciting cohort of guest artists. More on that very soon!
