Andrew Hibbard was born in Hamilton, Ohio in the late months of 1995. He began playing guitar at the age of 6 and his father had shown him basic chords. He has never taken any lessons and doesn't know how to read music. He would sit in his room night after night, listening to recordings of his favorite artists and would learn it all, by ear. Growing up in a town where nobody really listened to the same music as he did, he began staying up late and rambling around the eastern side of the United States by himself. Some of his musical heroes are Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Hank Williams, Chet Atkins, and Lightnin' Hopkins. That's just a few. As a teenager he entered his high school talent show, performing the song "Johnny B. Goode" by Chuck Berry and received 1st place.
3 years later he would be opening for the great Dr. Ralph Stanley of The Stanley Brothers in Newport, Kentucky. Andrew released his 1st studio album "Foot In The Door" at just 17 years old. His 1st album had 7 original songs, and was recorded at Moonlight Studios in Fairfield, OH. Andrew's talent has taken him all over the The United States.
He toured with My Brother The Bear, and also toured solo after following the release of his 2nd studio Album "Under The Knife". While playing such notable festivals as Buckle Up Music Festival in the company of artists like Sturgill Simpson, Willie Nelson, and Old Crow Medicine Show, to Whispering Beard Folk Festival in company of artists like Chicago Farmer, Willie Watson, and The Tillers, Andrew has made some very impressive stands.
At just 22 years old, he has opened for Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show, has opened up for Dr. Ralph Stanley of The Stanley Brothers, has stayed very persistent with touring, has played very large music festivals and venues, released 2 studio albums of all original material, and really made a name for himself.
He has stated he's written somewhere close to 300 songs, most songs being lost or scrapped due to his nature of winging almost everything. Today it is very rare to have that much original material and once you listen to his songs, you will understand that he is a poet whether he enjoys the labels or not. Whether it's paying tribute to the classics or displaying his own craft that can match his musical mentors, Andrew Hibbard is sure to be a delightful, and an intoxicating experience to anyone who is a fan of Folk/Country/Blues at it's highest caliber, and he is destined for placement in the spotlight.
Andrew has currently finished touring on his second album, Under The Knife, and has built a solid team and continued support from fans to help spread his gospel. He has just finished recording his 3rd studio album and is preparing to have it released, with new merch, touring, and real songwriting in a city near you!
