The Franklin Chthonics seasonal calendar begins! The springtime is the right time to set fires in the woods. The First People burned the forest floor to enhance movement and vision. We do the same. This year, we will make a gauntlet of fire by igniting dozens of bonfires flanking a path through the Big Woods at dusk. (This year we are determined to properly synchronize the lighting of the fires, a goal that has, admittedly, eluded us the past couple of years). As the sky darkens and the flames rise, we will refrain from chanting or any such display of mock spirituality, choosing instead to worship the Fire God Novartis in the solitary confinement of our hearts.

Other activities for the weekend may include Manhunt, Goldsworthy Prep, and Batting and Fielding. The menu should include Korean Barbecued Chicken, Roast Beef and Off-The-Bone Turkey Sandwiches, and Spaghetti Carbonara.
