Milk Press Workshop: What We Talk About When We Talk About Love Language

Free - $20.00

Part of the weekly Milk Press Virtual Workshop series, produced by the Poetry Society of New York. With guest instructor Jonathan BurkhalterIf you’ve ever laid on the couch with a lover, taking that one free quiz online, discussing your love languages, then you might be like the rest of us who have, at least at some point, asked ourselves how we want to be loved and how we should show love in return. While there are the big five love language answers, our larger syntax is capable of much more than even what the overused word, love, can conjure. We grow to deeply understand people by first understanding their language. This class is about examining our own relationships to our personal languages, how they are linked to our practices (including loving) and the ways we view ourselves in our personal worlds. It’s also an examination of love poetry, and using our individual languages to dig beneath the surface of corny love poems to get to where we are most ourselves and almost always alone. **This virtual workshop will be held over Zoom. You should receive a link in your confirmation email.**
