Mini Black Zine Fair Detroit
11am-6pm, Saturday, August 9, 2025
Hosted by Bulk Space at 2857 E Grand Blvd, Detroit, MI 48202
This Black August, we’re bringing the Black Zine Fair to Detroit for the first time—grounded in the abolitionist tradition and held in deep care.
In that spirit, this fair is about publishing as protest and survival. Picking up where BZF NYC left off, the fair is a model for what can exist elsewhere: Black Zine Fairs in every city, led by and for Black people.
Full program to be announced soon!

Make a donation to support the fair
Mini Black Zine Fair Detroit is free and open to the public, although donations are appreciated. We suggest a donation between $5-10 depending on your financial ability.
The fair is organized by Sojourners for Justice Press and Midnight Care Collective. We’re committed to creating a free platform for Black zine makers who otherwise wouldn’t have access to zine/art/book fairs and festivals. Thank you for supporting us!
Safety precautions for airborne viruses
Mini Black Zine Fair Detroit is a masked fair. All event attendees, exhibitors, workshop facilitators, and staff are expected to wear a high quality KN95 or N95 mask at all times inside the venue to protect each other from airborne viruses. Masks will be provided. We expect you to test regularly/serially leading up until the event. If you test positive or have any symptoms, we ask that you refrain from attending the fair.
