Breaking Bread Dinner with NYC Environmental Justice Alliance

Brooklyn, New York
$6.63 - $22.46 (includes all fees)

Breaking Bread with NY Renews & the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance

Join us for the latest edition of the Breaking Bread series, a community dinner hosted at Mayday Space in collaboration with leading social justice organizations. We bring together members of grassroots groups and the politically-engaged public to sharpen our strategies, celebrate our wins, and strengthen our movements for transformative change.

For our 2nd gathering, we’re thrilled to partner with NY Renews and the NYC Environmental Justice Alliance, the people power behind the historic campaign for a green transition in New York State to counter climate chaos.

HOW THE BREAKING BREAD SERIES WORKS: During each gathering, the partner group has 30 minutes to present their victories, challenges, and lessons learned with those assembled. The Mayday crew then serves a free, home-cooked meal during which conversations on movement strategy and community-building continue around the dinner table.

7:00 - Doors open, music, mingling, take seats
7:30 - NY Renews + NYC EJA presentation
8:00 - Dinner served, strategy conversations
9ish - After-event at Starr Bar (10min walk away)

MORE ABOUT THIS MONTH’S PARTNERS:

NY Renews is a coalition of nearly 200 environmental, justice, faith, labor, and community groups, and the force behind the nation’s most progressive climate law. We fight for good jobs and climate justice, and we’re not finished yet.

The New York City Environmental Justice Alliance (NYC-EJA) is a citywide membership network linking grassroots organizations from low-income neighborhoods and communities of color in their struggle for environmental justice. NYC-EJA empowers its member organizations to advocate for improved environmental conditions and against inequitable environmental burdens by the coordination of campaigns designed to inform City and State policies.

ACCESSIBILITY: Childcare and Spanish interpretation available. This event is taking place on Mayday’s 3rd floor Great Hall up two flights (unfortunately no elevator).

RSVP: Please use the WithFriends link above (click “tickets”) to secure your seat at the table.
