All are invited to come and explore the splendors of our Summer of Sumac Membership Box at a special tea time from 3p to 6p on Saturday Sept 7.
While this summer has been bountiful in many ways, we've recently discovered the joys of a plant that's always been in abundance: Staghorn Sumac. Basically a weed, sumac likes to grow on roadsides and produces bright red drupes which can be used for making a tart tea, spice and even ink!
We’ll be serving hand foraged sumac ice tea, grilling hot dogs, offering tastes of chow chow and other snacks. We’ll also be serving Staghorns, our late summer gin cocktail for $10 a sling and showing off our neat finds from the summer.
