On Dec. 28th, Gov. Cuomo signed into law a bill pushed by the tenant movement to stop evictions in NY until at least May 1st. This was a huge win but the fight is not over. Come hear from organizers and housing lawyers about what these changes mean for you and your neighbors.
We’ll cover questions like:
--How does the eviction moratorium work and will it protect me?
--How will I know if I’m being illegally evicted or harassed by my landlord?
--What are my rights and how can I get organized with other tenants?
--Are we ever cancelling rent?
Join your friends from Mayday Space, Mi Casa Resiste, the Broadway Starr Tenants Union, and Brooklyn Eviction Defense (BED) to explore the state of the struggle for housing justice as we kick off a new year of resistance and solidarity. There will be informative presentations and time to answer your questions!
