This beginner-level workshop will take participants through all the tools and functions of Adobe Photoshop, explore sweatshop-free merchandise design as a tool for mutual aid, the origins of graphic design, how to design for housing accessibility, and more. This workshop is taught from the frameworks of design justice, anti-imperialist design histories, maximalism, everyday and omnipresent design, surrealism,
and hacking.
Attendees will leave fluent in Photoshop, with resources for exploring typography, product design, merchandise fulfillment, web design, graphic design history, and more.
Attendeess should bring a laptop with Adobe Photoshop downloaded beforehand. Adobe offers a free 30-day trial then is $23.mo after for two devices (which can be split between two users). Students and staff at colleges typically have free institutional access.
