Going through these dark and difficult times, where recognition of a turning point in history becomes obvious, it's hard not to be concerned with the democratic experiment in a basic way. And this puts into relief community…the LIFE of community at the heart of equality and respect for individuals.

There is an urgency to do something, if only indirectly, through voice and instruments, to acknowledge the gravity of the moment we are in.

Eulogies, while beginning to address this loss, also lean towards celebration; and, in allowing for a wide range of approaches and angles, makes possible an unusual night of readings, performance, and music.
