The fight against ecological destruction and racialized violence are inextricably linked. Today that struggle is alive and well in the Weelaunee Forest in Muskogee territory, (so called Atlanta, GA), where an enormous forest on the edge of the city is threatened to be clearcut and paved, with a massive police training facility built in its place. The cops were meant to begin construction in January but thanks to a radical and militant forest defense campaign, they haven’t been able to. Another huge section of the park is also under threat by Shadowbox Studios who wants to clearcut to build the largest sound stage on earth.

The effort to prevent this is not just an ecological struggle but a resistance to gentrification. We rage in solidarity with those on the front lines in Atlanta.
