From 9:30 pm onward, join Blank Forms for a celebration following our 6th Annual Gala Honoring Charlemagne Palestine, featuring drinks and music, deejayed by Douglas Sherman (The Loft, Joy).
Our yearly gala raises crucial funds for new commissions, public programs, publishing and archival initiatives. For more information, please contact Corinne Daniel: corinne@blankforms.org
Douglas Sherman has been an integral member of David Mancuso’s seminal Loft party in New York City, notably as David’s longest serving back-up musical host, having played countless parties over the years beginning in 1984. Douglas has a deep respect and appreciation for music and the importance of sound, to hear and experience music in the way that the artist intended without manipulation, emphasizing thematic development over beat matching.
As a musical host, he enables the power of music to captivate the audience, crafting continuous waves of harmonious sounds that foster immersive and transformative experiences. He always has a lineup of extraordinary offerings, a mix of new music and underground classics that he plays with passion and sincerity, driven by his personal connection to the dance floor, rather than merely following a prescribed playlist. His selections are adventurous, joyful, and all encompassing, where every record stands on its own and the music plays us.
