Telling Personal Tales: Writing and Performing the Personal Narrative - Home School Class

$5.00 - $15.00

October 17, 10:00 - 12:00, $5 per person or $15 per family, All ages

Who are you? What is your story?  You are the stories that you tell. You are the author of your life story. How you know the world is through the stories you hear, live, create, and tell. You have all done this: think about a time when you were doing something really cool and you were thinking in the back of your mind I can not wait to get home and tell my friends about this. What was it that was so amazing, amusing, inspiring, or insane?  Your life is filled with these stories. Have you ever met someone, been somewhere, or done something? These are the characters, setting and plot of your life. Fox will begin with a few examples of stories from his life, before we play a few theater games to help us explore our personal narrative. Like a biographer researching your life, we will begin with questions. Sitting down with a partner, and telling each other stories based on these and other similar questions. We will discuss memoirs and autobiographies of the famous for inspiration to create our own stories. Please bring five family photos that you think are snapshot moments of your life story.
