From quotes, sayings, terms and verbal expressions, African Americans have a unique way of using language to leave an imprint. This workshop will use cultural terms to write poetry around it. It’s always interesting to see how different people define a colloquial word based on personal experience. About the Instructor: Steph Ox is an Amazon Best selling children's book author as well as a comedic and motivational poet. Her work is rooted in her ability to understand many different perspectives and point of views. Her writing catalog includes different genres of poetry, stories, songs, and an evolving children's book series. She created and curated sold out Poetry and Comedy shows, opened up for Grammy nominated artists, performed at various colleges and festivals all around the US. In 2023, Steph Ox held the record for the highest viewed poem on Instagram. She is currently going viral on tik tok and will be releasing a much anticipated spoken word album Spring of 2025Steph Ox is passionate about changing the world through the art of writing and storytelling.
