Part of The Poetry Society of New York's Weekly Virtual Workshop Series. With poet antmen pimentel mendoza! In "The Queer Art of Failure," Jack Halberstam offers a reminder: "All losers are the heirs of those who lost before them. Together we will read some grounding text from Halberstam, Anne Boyer, and Mia Mingus as well as poems from Frank Bidart, Tommy Pico, and Justin Chin.About the Instructor: antmen pimentel mendoza (he, she) is the author of the chapbook MY BOYFRIEND APOCALYPSE (Nomadic Press, 2023; reprinted by Black Lawrence Press). antmen writes, works at the Multicultural Community Center at UC Berkeley, and studies at the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University. antmen’s poetry is published in Underblong, Peach Mag, Split Lip and anthologized in Best New Poets 2023. antmen has received support from the Mendocino Coast Writers’ Conference and Kundiman. antmen lives in Oakland and is online as @antmenismagic and at antmenpm.com.* *This workshop will take place on Zoom.**
