New York City Action Medical (NYCAM) and Mayday Space are hosting TWO free online bridge trainings Tuesday, October 13, 7-10PM EST or Sunday, October 25, 1-4PM EST for MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS who want to learn how to apply their skills to support protestors. Please note that this training is for people with WFA, EMT, paramedic training as well as doctors, nurses, etc. Because of the prior knowledge needed, only having first aid and CPR/AED certification is not sufficient to attend this training.

We will be covering ops, buddy system, consent, security, eye flushes for pepper spray and tear gas, and police weaponry and tactics, immediate interventions for critical trauma and gunshot wounds, and more. We will be offering live captioning, and participants will receive a follow-up email with resources.

ABOUT NYC ACTION MEDICAL: NYCAM is a collective of volunteer street medics active in New York City which began in 2016. We provide first aid and emergency care at protests, direct actions, and other sites of resistance and struggle. We also offer anywhere from 8 to 20-hour long training sessions for medical professionals and community members alike who are interested in supporting the fight to end oppression in all its forms. Our group contains volunteers with many levels of certification and from many scopes of practice (EMTs, nurses, Wilderness first aid, herbalists, etc) but all are 20-hour medic trained.

ABOUT MAYDAY: Mayday Space is a collectively-managed organizing and social hub for grassroots groups, neighborhood residents, artists and activists from across NYC (and beyond!) to hold classes, training, meetings, film screenings, retreats, conferences, art builds, and all-ages events on an affordable sliding scale.
