THE ORANGE PARTY FUNDRAISER: Uniting over wine, art, and food, to end gun violence.

Join us on Thursday, June 23 at 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the cell theatre for an evening of incredible art, live music, and delicious wine and food, all to take action and raise funds to end gun violence in our country. Profits from this event will be donated to Brady Campaign, a bipartisan nonprofit that advocates for gun control and against gun violence, and unites people across the aisle, from coast to coast. Orange is the defining shade of gun violence prevention activism, and we’re incorporating the color across the event, from the food and art to the wine. We invite you to stand with us and come dressed in orange too!

Entry begins at 6:00 PM. Doors close for the event at 7:00 PM sharp when the program begins and reopen from 8:00 - 9:00 PM for any late entries.

About The Wine:
We are celebrating the release of an exquisite and beautifully labeled wine that features artwork by Simone Ver Eecke, an artist whose work spans across painting, music, photography, design, food, and plant medicine. The Broken Land Orange Wine is a skin-fermented, lightly oaked wine made from a blend of Finger Lakes Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, and Sauvignon Blanc. The 2020 vintage has notes of apricot, jasmine green tea, and melon followed by a dry, slightly tannic finish.

About The Art
The Broken Land Orange Wine label features M-16 Assault Rifle Piece, 2009, acrylic and spray paint shot on masonite board with an M-16 Assault rifle. Both the theme and artistic method of this piece alludes to the horrific gun violence our brothers and sisters, children, and educators have suffered in our country.

About The Menu
Look forward to a scrumptious array of sweet and savory bites crafted by Simone along with friend and colleague, Maliha Adams (an NYC-based food & wine brand strategist). Together, these two are playing with the theme of “orange” in both the locally-sourced ingredients and hue of the spread! Come hungry.

About Alex Orange Drink @alexorangedrink
Alex Zarou Levine has been writing music and lyrics since youth in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Most notably with his brothers in D.I.Y. punk outfit the so-so glows. There's dark subtext to his lyrics which are often laced into bright hooky outsider anthems. Alex delves into brave personal territory, continuing to explore life's story in a world that's even more disjointed and damaged than before. If the most cohesive and fulfilling music of Alex's career is the outcome of everything being broken, then maybe that's okay.
