Come and learn about the beauty of natural indigo and join this meditative resist pattern making session in our outdoor garden.

Baltimore-based local artist, indigo dyer, and educator, Rosa Sung Ji Chang from Indigo Shade Map will share a brief story about her ancestors’ indigo culture and resist pattern practices from South Korea.

The whole dye process is very eco-friendly and kids are welcome. All dyeing materials and a piece of cotton fabric will be provided for each participant.

Participants are also allowed to bring one additional small item to be dyed with indigo during the workshop. Examples include socks, a tank top, a handkerchief, a short-sleeve t-shirt, etc! Your additional item must be made of natural fibers (cotton, silk, linen, wool, etc).

Workshop is limited to 12 participants, purchase tickets here to reserve your space!

The pop-up style workshop profit will support Indigo Shade Map’s first magazine and the map printing production along with supporting Current Space.

-----

Note that this event takes place during Current Space's new bar hours (Wed-Sat, 5-11pm), so you're also welcome to grab a drink while you're here!
