Laying The Last Track

Brooklyn, New York
$22.46 (includes all fees)

Filmmaker Shelley Cheung Claudon shares a short segment of her work-in-progress documentary Laying The Last Track, chronicling the untold story of the Chinese railroad workers who built the Transcontinental Railroad. Though they were instrumental in uniting America, the workers have been written out of history books. Today, railroad descendants, along with Asian American activists, make sure their legacy is remembered.

Author and writer Katie Gee Salisbury will also be reading an excerpt from her published essay, "Double Exposure: Searching for Truth on the Transcontinental Railroad."

Free & open to the public, made possible in part with the support of the City Corps Artist Grant.

Film still from Laying The Last Track of Corky Lee
