Hidden City is a collective run by event organizers and performers who have been working in the DIY space in NYC for over ten years. As we've watched our city become more expensive and hostile to artists, we were inspired to grow Hidden City to help revive a scene that is sustainable, inclusive, and artist-friendly.

The focus of this month's meeting will be to organize the Hidden City Festival, a multidisciplinary event spanning two weekends, uniting DIY venues & communities across NYC. It's a damn-the-man/fuck-the-corporations/grassroots campaign to share art on our terms, happening from 7/31-8/2 and 8/7-8/9.

We're looking to collaborate with different collectives, venues, and organizers to showcase a broad range of performers, mindsets, and experiences. Our goal is to see what artists & DIY organizers can accomplish on our own, without shady venues, corporations, or middlemen.

Local performer & organizer Emily Austin will be opening up her home to host us. She hosts The Homebody Sessions, a performance series she started highlighting local performers in an intimate setting.
