Thanks to the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the City Artist Corps Grant, Lyana Delgado and Mateo Hurtado emphatically present on October 22nd at Mayday Space from 10:30-11:30pm, DARK ROAST: a live late night talk show that waves its freak flag with mind altering music, a who's who of NYC avant-garde performance-presents and presences of color, and political commentary without a word count. Feisty and energy frenzied host Mateo Hurtado assumes the role of MC, with special guests and the audience, in tandem who are all in for a ride in this one-hour pop culture spectacular spectacle embracing the fringes of identities and modes of expression. This encounter of off-off broadway traditions stemming from the 1960's where theatrics were original, spoken, shared with clamor in coffeehouses and apartments alike meets our quaran-timely intimacies of living room concerts emitting a Kanye West-like "stadium status" with gusto. Live music, a host, and grand guests unite IRL (in real life) and URL (live streamed) for a tenacious, dark humor, dark evening event for the senses.
