Join us at Wavefield on Saturday, April 26th for a night of experimental sampling, soundscapes, and electronic beats brought to you by A Closer Listen and Koncepshun. Performances start at 8 PM.

Joseph Sannicandro
Bio: Joseph Sannicandro is a writer and artist based in Montreal. His work has appeared in publications including Cultural Critique, The Journal for Sonic Studies, eContact, dpi., Carceral Notebooks, and in edited book collections. He is co-founder of the music blog A Closer Listen, and producer of the Sound Propositions podcast. With Hubert Gendron-Blais, he co-produced Réverbérations d’une crise, a militant sound inquiry into Montreal’s housing crisis. His musical compositions and sound art projects have been published by international labels, broadcast on community and internet radio stations, presented in festivals such as Montreal’s Suoni per il Popolo, and at galleries and museums including IKLEKTIK (London), Diagonale (Montreal), the Museo del Sannio (Benevento, Italy) and the Istanbul Cinema Museum.

Cory Bracken aka REAL ADULT
Bio: Cory is a composer, performer, improviser, curator, and artistic administrator currently residing in Ridgewood, New York City. Recent projects have included REAL ADULT (solo vehicle for noise music focusing on object-based percussion and electronics), Ashcan Orchestra (collection of toy and real instruments guided by composer Pat Spadine), Sunwatchers (psychedelic id rock wherein I play vibraphone and sometimes drum set), American Football, Birthmark, Yonatan Gat, KATIEE, LoftOpera, String Orchestra of Brooklyn, Iktus Percussion (all in varying roles of percussion), and various performance activities as an improviser, noise artist, percussionist, and drummer. Past theatrical collaborations have included productions with the Rady & Bloom Playmaking Collective, Panoply Performance Laboratory, and WILD TORUS. Recent curatorial activities were focused on monthly events hosted in my previous living quarters in Bushwick (“Luxury Lounge”), dedicated to all mediums of experimental performance, and from 2011-2013 I was the founder and director of Performers Forum, a monthly event hosted at Exapno in Brooklyn dedicated to performance, lecture, and discussion with a variety of experimental musicians.

Amanda Gutiérrez
Bio: Amanda Gutiérrez explores the experience of political listening and gender studies by focusing on soundwalking and radio practices. Her sound artwork has been exhibited at various international venues, including The Liverpool Biennale in 2012, Harvestworks in NYC, , Undefined Radio in Montreal, Errant Bodies Studio Press in Berlin, POP Montreal, the City of Women Festival, and the To)POT Festival in Ljubljana, as well as the ENSEMS Music Festival in Valencia, Sur Aural in Bolivia, and the Tsonami Sound Festival in Chile.

Bio: Midi Neutron is an electronic musician whose sonic palette blends elements of ambient sounds, electronica, jazz, lofi/experimental hip-hop and electronic music, with a strong influence from NYC's experimental hip-hop and LA's beat culture.
