Set in a former parking garage on Amsterdam Avenue, come spend the day in a space that feels like a downtown party in the 1970s, and celebrate the end of summer with music, films, games, food and drinks.

The second floor will host live music all day from some of the best musicians and DJs in the city, including Patrick Higgins of the acclaimed NYC-based band Zs, DJ Polarity, patrice I/O, Kamari Carter, and others to be announced. (More info below)

From 6pm onwards on the ground floor, check out an incredible roster of short and experimental films curated by Bernhard Fasenfest. If you want to have even more fun, spend some time playing arcade games created by Death by Audio Arcades in custom-made cabinets, spread throughout the building.

Enjoy cocktails and drinks courtesy of the brilliant minds behind Harlem Public, and feast on items from the Salt and Bone food trucks.

ARCADES: Death by Audio Arcades

The Death By Audio Arcade is a series of local multiplayer arcade cabinets produced by local indie game developers that originate from Death By Audio, Brooklyn's influential DIY music venue.

FILMS: Experience mind-bending visuals, rapid-fire montage, disintegrating film strips, flickering fabrics, mysterious Christmas trees, and more in over 30 short film works that interrogate the process of image making and the patterns that surround us. Curated by Bernhard Fasenfest.

MUSIC:

Patrick Higgins is an American avant-garde composer, guitarist, and producer from New York City, known for his work in experimental and contemporary classical music. He plays guitar and composes in the ensemble Zs, described by The New York Times as "one of the strongest avant-garde bands in New York." His work as composer traverses the styles of the European avant-garde and the tradition of post-minimalist Downtown New York music. He has received attention for his unique style of guitar playing and his work as a composer, heralded as "one of the most gifted guitarists working today" (The Quietus)\\\\\\\\\\[2\\\\\\\\\\] and a "formidable concert music composer" (The Boston Globe). After a performance at South By Southwest music festival in Austin, TX he was named the "best guitarist of the 2013 event" by Premier Guitar Magazine.

DJ Polarity has made a name for himself on the NYC nightlife circuit venues like Le Poisson Rouge and the Backroom, and has also rocked day parties in Williamsburg (Hope Garage) and El Barrio (Camaradas). Polarity is a fixture on the record store spinning circuit, and in organized DMC competitions. He is the resident DJ for 8 Squad Rebel Rdaio in Bloomfield, New Jersey for a shiow dedicated to underground and independent hip hop called “Against The Grain”.

patrice I/O: 10-year veteran of uptown Manhattan, NYU Tisch School of the Arts '07, Fully committed to the direction of New York, owner of CInderblock People records on 142nd Street.

Kamari Carter is a Performer, Producer, Sound Designer, and Sound Artist hailing from Los Angeles, California. He first discovered his love for adding strange sounds to moving image during his undergraduate at California Institute of the Arts while studying under Ajay Kapur, and Rob Wannamaker. Throughout his Career his work has seen the light of day in such venues as Automata Arts, MoMA, Fridman Gallery, and Issue Project Room just to name a few. Today Kamari lives in New York and is currently working to complete his Masters at Columbia University in “Sound Art”.
