Mosquitoes, Cats and Other Comrades

Human Resources Los Angeles, 410 Cottage Home St. , Los Angeles, California
$10.85 - $22.46 (includes all fees)

A two-program screening event in collaboration with Travelling Kolkata People's Film Festival

Join us for a day of films from Myanmar and India centering the people's resistance, camaraderie, love, and the quiet revolutions that resonate beyond the two nations.

This program presents four films that are grounded in acts of defiance—from Myanmar's jungles where a couple and their beloved cat Poopy join the resistance, to streets where the nation's youth protest and document the state violence with unwavering courage. A filmmaker in India grapples with his identity amid religious discrimination, while in an imagined kingdom, mosquitoes become symbols of dissent.
