Ramp Dinner

Queens, New York
Free

Wild leeks are foraged from our region’s hillsides for only about three weeks of the year. Ramp harvest is a celebration of Spring and Ramp Dinners are an Appalachian tradition in many rural communities, particularly in West Virginia. Franklin Chthonics’ version will include ramp pickles, sauteed ramps, ramp potato soup, greed salad with wild watercress and ramp leaves, and ramp butter bruschetta. Ramp Gibson cocktails will be available for $10.

One purpose of the dinner is to introduce FC’s new community membership program, with benefits that include four seasonal subscription boxes annually, each with products cultivated, foraged or crafted at Franklin Chthonics.

Spring Boxes will be available at the dinner for members to take home. They will (provisionally) include: gummies made with cannabis harvested at FC last Fall, a flask of maple syrup from our sugarbush processed this winter, a bunch of fresh ramps, a jar of ramp pickle, salmon (or some other fish) cold smoked in our smokehouse and a bunch of wild watercress.
