T4Tuesdays (Kick-off Event)

Brooklyn, New York
Free

Join Voluminous Arts for the kickoff of T4Tuesdays on Tuesday July 23rd from 6pm-1am at The Bush, 333 Troutman St. Brooklyn, NY

T4Tuesdays is an ongoing experiment in transexualism and a degenerate transexual party 😈 popping up every second Tuesday of the month at The Bush Dyke Bar 🏋️‍♀️

What to expect? Transexuals and dykes from all realms, DJs, dance music, experimental performance, community organizing, skill-shares, workshops, cruising, and all the joy that comes with transsexuals taking over the dyke bar.

Before the party gets revved up, come meet us at open office hours starting at 6 where you can learn about the work our community is doing and get involved, followed by skill shares at 7 where you can make friends, meet people and get ready to dance to the DJs of the expanding Voluminous Arts community.

This Tuesday we’ll have office hours from 6-7, come say hi 👋

From 7-8 Nolan Hanson, founder of Trans Boxing, will lead an introductory workshop and teach participants the basic fundamentals of boxing, including stance, hand position, and defensive techniques. One of Nolan's students, Sammy, will join them for a padwork demo at the end. No experience or equipment is necessary!

The party fully goes off starting at 8 with DJ sets from Skullfucker and Bitch Machine, plus T4Tuesdays resident DJ Sodomahigomorra for your body moving, cruising, and generally deranged pleasure.

Voluminous Arts is a cultural organization with a vision to build a community center for trans people in New York City. A suggested $10 donation helps support Voluminous Arts’ ongoing operations as we build our vision, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Accessibility: The Bush is located on the ground floor with no steps to entry. It has two bathrooms, one ADA accessible, with a hand rail on the right side of the toilet. If there is a line, and standing on line is inaccessible - please go directly to the bouncer and we will let you in once we have capacity.

Covid protocols: While we would love to provide on-site testing, Voluminous Arts does not currently have the financial resources to provide that, so please test before coming and stay cozy at home if you test positive or do not feel well.

Masking is welcome. Please respect the choices of your fellow attendees on the choice to wear or not wear a mask.

Stay tuned for further updates, we will be adjusting as needed if there are significant changes in Covid cases.

If you would like to partner with us to provide masks and/or testing, please reach out to info@voluminousarts.com
