Electro/Rock/Pop/Country/Small Engine Repair practitioners Lean Meats has spent the past year gigging around Portland and Greater Boston, releasing their ode to late nights "What'd I Miss?", and scouring local record bins for inspiration. And inspiration they found, as reflected in their new music, which draws from classic jazz songstresses, the 2000s garage rock revival, deep cuts from the (original) “Top Gun” soundtrack, and Windows 95 startup sounds. Dig it.

The Planes
The Planes are a four-piece indie rock band from New York City. Since their founding in 2009 by guitarist/singer Stephen Otto Perry, they’ve earned a reputation for writing catchy indie rock jams, showing up to gigs on time, and taking that last drink ticket off your hands, y’know, if you’re not going to use it anyway and it would just go to waste. Their current lineup includes drummer Josh “The Hitman” Inman, guitarist Patrick “The Hitman” Porter, and bassist Mike “The Hitman” Petzinger.

Released by genre-free label Already Dead Tapes, @_starcard's debut LP "Trash World" has garnered attention from Stereogum, KEXP, The Big Takeover, Oh My Rockness!, AudioFuzz, Rosy Overdrive, soundvsystem, Radio Trails, and Rue Defense Club for their emotionally-driven slacker rock. Drawing comparisons to Superchunk and The Breeders, their earworm-driven live sets typically take an intimate twist with their lead vocalist, who's also a professional tarot reader, throwing cards out into the crowd to the tune of fuzzy guitars and a gnarled drawl.
