This workshop covers all the basic knowledge needed to start recording and mixing your own projects from home. The main idea is to improve the quality of your audio craft and get better skills by learning sound theory, practicing recording techniques and delving into mixing.

It’s an 8-hour workshop divided into three classes (one in person and two online, online classes will be recorded). During these classes we will practice microphone placement, we will explore different audio gear and how to properly use it. We will also learn key concepts of mixing like: compression, EQ, panning, gain staging, time-based effects, automations and more!

Workshop Cost: $90 - $150.

About the Instructor:
Johann is an Audio Engineer and Teaching Artist, he was born in the 90s and raised in Venezuela. At the age of 15 he started to feel interest towards music and at first it was his hobby. Years passed by and this hobby filled his spirit in many ways so Johann decided to pursue a career in Recording Arts. At first, like many others, it was self taught on the internet, until 2015 when Johann left his country to study Recording Arts at Full Sail University in Florida. He graduated 2 years later and moved to New York City. Johann has about 8 years of experience recording, mixing, mastering, producing, composing and teaching. He’s the founder of “Amigos de la Casa” a Venezuelan indie record label founded to support struggling artists with releasing their records.
