Arts for Art’s annual Family Gathering, will take place on the 2nd floor of The Clemente in Teatro LaTea on Friday December 6th. The event kicks off the Artists & Friends annual fundraising campaign. All funds raised will support Arts for Art and the Improvised Creative Arts. But more than that it will be a gathering of the community celebrating Love and unbridled creativity and specifically it will celebrate the creative legacy of the musicWitness®, Jeff Schlanger.

The focus of Family Gathering is Love of Community and empowerment. It is more important than ever that AFA holds to our ideals but with eyes wide open to the dangers that are already present and those that lie ahead. But we are equally committed to Love and Joy.

This celebration is an affirmation of life and creativity, positive action, empowerment, diversity, and common humanity. When you contribute to Arts for Art, you are ensuring a vital future for this amazing art and community. Let’s come together to create a world that we want to live in.

Founded in 1996, Arts for Art (AFA) is a New York City based nonprofit dedicated to the promotion and advancement of FreeJazz, which is recognized for its variety of highly developed and personalized improvisational languages. The music, dance, poetry and visual arts that AFA presents holds deep roots in Black and multicultural creativity.
