Soma-Connection Workshop

Queens, New York
$6.63 - $11.90 (includes all fees)

A creative movement workshop that incorporates elements of somatic yoga and group improvisation scores. The objectives include: increasing body awareness, manifesting collective ideas and shared learning experiences. A conducive space for creativity and inquiry is generated through guided improvisations and processes of embodied anatomy. The somatic approach urges us to be present with the body as a whole using the experience of movement and touch to connect with each other. We achieve unity through the commonality of the body while encompassing different ideas and perspectives. The group becomes a collective of individuals that feel, think and create together as a mode of developing higher possibilities for autonomy.

Multi-level workshop. For anyone interested in movement practices.

This event is free. All donations will go to the facilitator and towards keeping Woodbine open to everyone.

Yanina Orellana is currently enrolled in the certification for Therapists and Educators in Somatic Movement through EastWest Somatics Institute Mexico with Ashley Meeder. The Shin Somatics method includes: bodywork, somatic movement therapy and somatic yoga.
