Join Voluminous Arts for T4Tuesdays at Mad Tropical, 236 Troutman St. Brooklyn, NY. At this month's event we'll have a panel of trans artists talking about how they get inspired and what rituals they use to help get them there, a very hot summer lineup of DJs, and yes get your low stim on again with jigsaw puzzles in the middle room.
Before the party gets revved up, come meet us at open office hours starting at 6 where you can learn about the work our we are doing and get involved. Office hours is also a great time to co-work and/or organize with fellow trans people. Office hours is followed by skill shares, workshops, panels, and activities at 8 where you can make friends, meet people and get ready to dance to the DJs of the expanding Voluminous Arts community.
On July 8th we’ll be celebrating one year of T4Tuesdays with a special rebooted edition of our beloved function. We will have a panel of artists from our communities talking about how they approach a consistent practice of music making and the roles that inspiration and rituals play in that practice. Everyone has a different way to show up for sustaining their creativity and our panel is designed to share multiple perspectives towards the end of an expansive view of possibility. Our panelists Adonis Huff, JESSXO, Luwayne Glass, and ixy hardbit3s will be joined by panel facilitator Crystal Peñalosa in this experimental knowledge sharing session.
At 9pm we set the controls for the heart of throwing ass with music from DJs Local Goth Girl (aka Crystal Peñalosa), JESSXO, and our resident Sodomoahigomorra. We’re also so excited to be screening some films from ColorBlock Films as a lead up to the Drip Film Festival happening July 12th and 13th.
All night we'll have jigsaw puzzles in the middle room for a lower stimulus alternative to the dance floor. It's also a v cute way to meet people if you're shy.
Toolbox Collective will be joining us all night to distribute free harm reduction and safer sex supplies as well as KN95 masks. Photos by @zippeee
