Care of Others, Care of Self: Health Class Expanded
Non-violent communication will teach us how to express honestly and receive empathically.
Mental Health will explore intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression and will seek to destigmatize tending to our needs. We will also speak honestly about death and grieving.
Radical self love is going to take us on a journey through Sonya Renee Taylor's book The Body is Not an Apology. The way we view our bodies has deep roots in the oppressive systems of which we live. Let's start or continue to internally dismantle these systems towards radical self love.
Sexuality education will be what many of us wished we had in high school. Relationships take center stage along with the 411 on contraceptives, abortion, and access to healthcare all through a reproductive justice lens.
Then we end with Love, specifically, All About Love by bell hooks. We aim to expand our mindset about love, the deepest feeling of the human experience.
