"Tranquility Base", a psychedelic liquid light installation, bathes the viewer in primordial organic forms. Weaving in a vintage ‘60’s slide collection, motifs of protest, spirituality, freedom, love and mysticism show how these themes are relevant to our current culture. The gallery installation provides insight as an opportunity to learn from the past, advancing towards a truly just and free society.

Tranquility Base borrows its name from the site of the first Moon Landing in 1969. The name is a nod to the artist's deep enthusiasm for space exploration, but more importantly, it serves as a connection to an era of American history with striking parallels to the current social revolution underway 50 years later. The imagery involved uses techniques and materials first developed in the 1960s.

The theme of Tranquility here is a continuation of an earlier work by the Artist at the cell, titled "Windowpane Tranquility'. The intention of the piece is to provide a gentle, calming, and welcoming space for All People. The Artist wishes to give the participant an experience of repose and focus, and to give strength and centeredness as we all continue to navigate through the strangeness and anxieties that have been a part of our lives for the past few months.

A limited run of thirty 18” x 24” prints will be available for sale.

Liquid Light Lab is the work of Steve Pavlovsky, a multi-dimensional light artist from New York City. A majority of his work utilizes liquid projection, experimental media and hand-made organic elements first seen in 1960s psychedelic light shows. Following on the visual music traditions of Wassily Kandinsky, Thomas Wilfred, and The Joshua Light Show, Pavlovsky invokes the Spiritual and Sublime. Building upon an analog relationship to light and time, Pavlovsky has created Liquid Light Lab, a living, breathing, visual expression of music, nature, and the human spirit.
