We'll have board games, consoles, and PC games available, as well as cheap snacks and drinks (everything's $1 - seriously when's the last time you saw a water bottle for a $1 in NYC). If you frequent the Uncommons or Hex & Co, that's the vibe. This is part of our fundraising efforts for our office space, which you can learn about after the divider.
We'll be open from 12PM to 9PM, and it's $10pp for the day for game fees (3 hour limit if it gets busy!). Active EGD members may receive 1 free snack and drink with their game fee. We will be open to the public, so bring your friends! We have family-friendly games as well, so feel free to bring your kids or younger relatives.
See you for game night!

The EGD Collective is a grassroots movement across North America with a mission to help every student finish their education and find their place within gaming.
We are a one-of-a-kind leadership development experience that not only prevents students from dropping out or getting academically dismissed, but prepares and propels students into STEM and arts careers within the games industry.
In February 2020, we had served over 1600 students and community members across a 5 month span, running out of a closet and a theater graciously borrowed to us on Friday nights by Hunter College's Film & Media Department. When COVID hit, we continued to provide programming online, and for the 2021-2022 academic year we did our best to be on the ground with students who had returned to in-person classes, even though student services were greatly impacted and the things that created the support systems that keep students in college were unable to officially run. This past year, we operated to the best of our ability with no permanent space, no storage, and no clear runway for the future - but our first class of students who started our programs as freshman, graduated this year and landed internships and jobs at leading games, tech, and arts companies.
Not all of them made it, which is why it is imperative that we fully reinstate our in-person offerings alongside our virtual programming. Our students' mental health, financial situations, academic situations, and career prospects are important, and it has been made clear that we need to be with them on campus. 500 student lecture halls with no social distancing were deemed ok, while student organizations were told it was too risky - leaving thousands of students expected to return to in-person learning without the proper support during a global crisis that is still ongoing.
