SPACE/TIME with SHELTER PUPPY and FRIENDS

Welcome to SPACE/TIME, a place beyond, inbetween, and further than your usual expectations of a night out on the town with a rock'n'roll band. And support a New York City institution while doing it!

THE EXPERIENCE:
Start the night by walking through a time capsule of old New York City. A reliquary is usually a place to lay the bones of deceased saints, but The City Reliquary is a dark and mysterious little museum full to the ceilings with the unexpected histories of the city we all love.

Then, find yourself in our expansive and magical backyard, crawling with murals, sculpture, performance, and art of all kinds from your Brooklyn community. Our nooks and crannies might have more than you’d expect. Really, we expect a flash tattoo artist, typewriter poet, polaroid portraitist, and more!

THE PERFORMERS:
We have some of New York’s favorite performers to play the night away.

Shelter Puppy is the newest project by Sabina Crowley (The Icebergs) and Al Effing Fresco, a rock n roll duo with romance duets and pop hits galore!

John S. Hall is a poet/spoken word artist, author, and singer-songwriter. He has released numerous albums of varying quality and popularity, including nine albums with various incarnations of his band King Missile. He has performed in three continents, 45 states, and four boroughs, and has been seen on HBO, PBS, and MTV.

Little Cobweb is a project by Angela Carlucci, who you may know from her past and present bands The Baby Skins or feminist punk band True Dreams. She will be playing revealing songs about heartbreak, new love, and loss with delicate guitar work.

Emi Burgquist is a prolific and sensational poet, who will be spreading mayhem and mystery alike amongst the music and within the crowds.

Last but not least, catch the ultimate burlesque trash fire incarnation, Venatrix, taking it all off to whatever comes up on her ipod shuffle at the time.

THE SHOW:
7:00 Doors Open and Activities Begin with Happy Hour
8:00 Show Starts
9:00 Intermission
10:00 Music Ends
11:00 Bar Closes

SAFETY
We are capping attendance to provide ample space for social distancing. A limited number of (masked) people will be permitted indoors for restrooms, or to browse the museum collections.

Face masks must be worn at all times. Guests may remove masks outdoors when they are seated or to drink and watch the show.

Hand sanitizer will be available for all.

ACCESSIBILITY
The main entrance and indoor museum are entirely flat, but there are 4 steps up and 4 steps down to the backyard. The backyard is uneven with some platforms, but a paved area near the entrance is available with a view of the stage. Email jacob@cityreliquary.org with any questions or needs, and we'll be happy to figure out if and how we can accommodate.

WHAT IS THE CITY RELIQUARY?
Reliquaries typically house the ostensible bones of dead saints. We house the bones of New York City. From seltzer bottles to schist cores, to roller skates from racially integrated rinks, to a burnt out lightbulb from the Statue of Liberty's torch. These artifacts as the backdrop, we aim to support artists and our Brooklyn community with a plethora of creative and cultural programming.

WHY MEMBERSHIP?
In exchange for your ongoing support as a member, you'll receive free admission to the museum as often as you care to visit, free tickets to all events, free beverages when possible, and—we hope— a tiny New York City historical institution to call your own.

Sustaining monthly memberships help us predict our finances, and survive through and beyond this pandemic. We are entirely volunteer-run and currently have no paid staff. Our community means the world to us, and we would love for you to be a part of it.

If you are not yet a member and buy a ticket, you will be asked after payment if you would like to contribute your ticket price toward membership. What a deal!

WHAT ELSE?
Please come prepared to tip the performers via cash, Venmo, or Cash App.

Drinks can be purchased from our bar with cash (preferred) or Venmo.
