How do positioning choices affect what the poem becomes and what the reader perceives of it? In this generative workshop, participants will explore distance, proximity and the in-betweens of Point of View in Poetics through visual texts and example poems. An opening writing prompt and a brief overview of the reader-speaker relationship will open the workshop. Then we will examine six illustrations that represent various Points of View in a poem and we'll use these as a framework to return to our opening writing to play with these new perspectives. You'll walk away with six fresh sets of eyes to look at your poetry from.About the Instructor: F.M.
