This event is part of Black Girl Magik's winter residency at Powrplnt. Through this residency, Black Girl Magik take the time to re-engage with the mission of the collective and to return to the root of what it means to organize and build collectively. During open studios, discussions, resources for women of color will be provided to engage in restoration and healing, and to define self-care on their terms.
A conceptual primer on working with energy will be offered followed by interactive instruction of foundational qigong practices.
There will also be time for journaling, group sharing, and conversation to support our practice and enrich our community.
An awareness of our personal energy and the innate ability to heal ourselves is a human birthright that many of us have forgotten; as such, one of the primary goals of this workshop is to offer accessible instruction of qigong and basic energy principles to the community.
Notes for attendees:
Please come dressed comfortably in clothes you can move in and be prepared to bare your feet and bring a journal and writing utensil if you have.
