From a historic genocide trial to the overthrow of a President, 500 YEARS (trailer: http://500years.skylight.is/trailer/) tells a sweeping story of mounting resistance played out in Guatemala's recent history through the actions and perspectives of the majority indigenous Mayan population, who now stand poised to reimagine their society.

This event is the first in an ongoing film and discussion series focusing on countries where asylum seekers in the US are coming from, $5 suggested donation to benefit The Solidarity Room Project (https://www.facebook.com/Solidarity-Room-Project-939216439761932/).
